Website in a Day

Website in a Day is a service created by Silver Servers that does exactly what the name promises: clients complete a detailed form, and by the end of the day, they have a complete website. The team wanted a promotional animation that could explain the service in a fun, engaging way while capturing the fast-paced personality of the brand.

I was provided with the finished script and Silver Servers' existing brand assets, including their enthusiastic squirrel mascot. From there, I took the lead on developing the visual direction and storyboarding the animation, sketching out scenes, character poses, and action beats in Procreate on my iPad.

Once the storyboards were established, I rebuilt the artwork as clean, animation-ready assets in Adobe Illustrator. I then brought the artwork into After Effects, where I animated the squirrel and the surrounding scenes, using movement, timing, and character reactions to keep the video energetic and engaging.

The animation follows the squirrel through a series of quick, playful moments that help explain how the Website in a Day service works. Character animation was a major part of the project, with the squirrel jumping across the screen, reacting to different situations, and helping carry the viewer through the story.

I also handled the audio production for the piece, adding sound effects and music from Pixabay, editing the final audio, and recording the voice-over myself. Bringing the visual and audio elements together helped give the animation a cohesive rhythm and energetic personality.

The final result is a fast-paced promotional animation designed to make a fairly straightforward service feel approachable, memorable, and fun. The video became one of Silver Servers' main marketing pieces and gave the company a reusable animated asset for promoting the service.
